Villa Primula

We had a lovely stay at Villa Primula! Our family of 9, including 4 children ages 12-4, loved the pool and the location. A short drive up to Cortona and an even shorter walk to the train station. Fruit markets, restaurants, gelato, bakeries all a short walk from the Villa. The owner was wonderful and check in and out were very smooth. The listing and photos were spot on and the Villa was very clean. MOSQUITOES - Do be advised that this time of year (early August with temps >35 C/95 F every day) the mosquitoes in the garden and pool area were awful (especially in the cool morning and evening). The owner kindly advised us of such and there were citronella candles available. Still, we didn’t have bug spray on hand before the kids hit the pool the first afternoon and they were eaten up badly. Wanted to share not as a deterrent but as an advisement as I had checked reviews beforehand specifically on this topic and didn’t see any mentions of mosquitoes.

Nice villa in Camucia, near the picturesque town of Cortona. House was clean and was a good base to discover the local area. Good train links nearby (5 mins walk) to Florence or Rome. Pool was welcome in the warmer weather. Some nice restaurants nearby which were good value. TV didn’t seem to work but that didn’t bother us. We walked upto Cortona on a warm day, not recommended as it’s a pretty steep hill, but there is a path which takes you off the road should you want a challenge.

This is one of the most beautiful places we have ever rented. Plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 children, close to all the stores and train station. The host was very helpful and pleasant. For our first time staying in this area, we had an amazing time. The beds were very comfortable to get us a good nights rest. We will definitely book this place again if it’s available.

L'alloggio conserva il fascino tipico dell'800 ma è tenuta benissimo. L'host è stato sempre disponibile e sempre gentile: è venuto incontro a tutte le nostre esigenze in quanto avevamo una neonata di 3 mesi con noi.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Primula! The villa is spacious and well maintained, and the check-in/check-out process was flexible and easy. We enjoyed walking into Camucia and the short drive to Cortona. Overall we would happily return!

Clean and spacious. Close to station, cafes and supermarket, so no need for a car. Pool was great for children 9 and 12. Also plenty of garden furniture. Owner Enrico very helpful.

Bellissima la Villa in posizione strategica per visitare tutta la zona. Gli host sono cordiali e molto disponibili. Unica pecca, per chi arriva in inverno: noi siamo andati in un periodo dell'anno piuttosto freddo e abbiamo avuto un po di difficoltà a riscaladare il piano terra inoltre il camino non si può utilizzare. Sono sicuro che d'estate con la piscina aperta sia una dimora fantastica.

Beautiful villa,with lots of outdoor space and beautiful swimming pool. Great space inside and very comfortable. Location really good, with lots of restaurants and shops in Camucia.

Ottima comunicazione e procedure di check-in e check-out. Lo spazio esterno e’ ben curato, la piscina e’ piccolina, ma comunque importante per rinfrescarsi e rilassarsi e ha uno spazio dedicato all’idromassaggio molto apprezzato! La casa si trova all’interno del paese, ma e’ comunque abbastanza silenziosa. Interni “vintage” e arredamento un po’ datato, ma nel complesso siamo stati bene... promossa!!!

rented this house for the last two weeks of september 2019 to celebrate my 50th birthday and invited friends and family. I didnt want to have to rent a car so that was one reason for the choise of this villa, besides the possibility to house nine and the poolarea. Im very pleased with the villa, the village of Camucia and the small Town Cortona nearby. Supermarket Coop is walkingdistance, plenty of shops and bakery nearby. The house is well kept and the gounds lovely and totaly secluded although very central. We spent days at the pool and evenings with long dinners outside. House is easy to reach from both Florence and Rome with train. Cortona is lovely, the walk up there steep, but theres a small bus to take that goes regulary to cortona from camucia busstation and back. A visit to barrachi wineyards is highly recommended, take their guidetour with a late lunch in their Michelin-restaurant included. Heaven! Ill be back! Jag hyrde detta hus sista två veckorna i september 2019 för att fira att jag fyller 50 med familj och vänner (jag bytte gäster efter en vecka). Huset, byn och staden Cortona är alla underbara. Huset känns avskilt utan insyn vid poolområdet, men ligger centralt. Tomten är underbar och vi spenderade mycket tid vid poolen och med långa middagar utomhus. Det gick bra att vara här utan bil och med gäster som kom via tåg från Florens eller Rom. Vi gjorde även dagsutflykter via tåg. Coop supermarket ligger på lätt gångavstånd och det finns mycket småbutiker och bagerier i närheten. Cortona är fantastiskt mysigt men det är en brant promenad uppför, det går dock en liten lokalbuss upp och ner regelbundet från tågstationen. Ett besök på Barrachi Wineyards rekommenderas verkligen, ta deras guidade tur med lunch i deras michelinrestaurang inkluderat. Vi var alla betagna och överens om att vi kände oss som kungligheter hela dagen, fantastisk service, miljö, mat och vin. Jag kommer att hyra villan igen, längtar redan tillbaka!

Beautiful!

Enrico and his family have a beautiful villa just outside of the hilltop town of Cortona. The Villa was beautifully maintained and so very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed coming back to such a lovely pool after a day of touring the hill towns of Tuscany. It was a dream come true for us to stay. Highly recommend this villa as it is close to many Tuscan towns but within walking distance to some restaurants and services in the sweet town of Camucia. Can't wait to return!

Dinner: Elena made us a wonderful 4 course dinner while we stayed at the Villa. The meal was excellent and was one of the highlights of our stay in Tuscany.

Villa Primula is a beautiful property, and we booked it becasue it had a private pool, and becasue it seemed to represent excellent value. The house had 5 bedrooms, and the two of us did rattle around ab bit, but hat aside, it was like stepping back in time. The house was very 'grand,' and some of the photos show that, but it was decorated and furnished to a high stndard, but from a different era! It was very nice indeed, but did take some acclimatisation! For a family, or for 3 couples, it would be ideal.
Unfortunately we were unable to use the pool, because our week was around 14-17 degrees (in May). But the garden was lovely, and the pool very modern. The garden was surprisingly private despite being very close to the centre of the town (in a residential area). Security gates were fitted which we used. Garden light ing was good.
The TV was a little prehistoric, and there were no Bristish channels. WIFI was fairly good once we had managed to get it working! There was no microwave, which I felt would have been useful.
Enrico, the owner/manager was very attentive. Fairly good English, and sorted an issues very quickly.
We would certainly return, but only with a party of 5 or more.

Beautiful house in a good location to explore Tuscany, particularly Cortona just 10 minutes away and not too far away from Montepulciano, Monatalcino & other wonderful villages. Very convenient to local supermarket, diesel stations etc yet quiet. Highly recommended

Fantastic villa. Perfect for what we needed. Spacious bedrooms and great facilities. The swimming pool is the perfect size for small children as it is not so big. Great location at the bottom of the climb up to Cortona and walking distance to some shops and restaurants in Camucia.

Our family of 6 adults and 2 children had a fantastic stay here. The home was both beautiful and comfortable. Air conditioning worked flawlessly. The pool was perfect, and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Perfect location and easily walkable to the train station. Highly recommended!

We had a very pleasant stay at Villa Primula. The villa could easily fit our group of 8 friends (4 couples). We had great fun relaxing and hanging out by the pool to finish the day after our busy tuscan cultural trips. Our host was very uncomplicated and friendly. The beautiful medieval town of Cortona is only a 5 minute drive away and offers amazing sunsets and great food.

Très agréable villa dans un lieu sublime. Le village de Cortone est magnifique de même que les villes de Sienne, Perouse et Arezzo, rapidement accessibles. Il faut toutefois prévoir de se protéger des moustiques, très nombreux et savoir que la facture d'électricité est un peu salée (notamment à cause de la climatisation présente dans l'ensemble de la maison)

Our group of 8 people rented Villa Primula for a small family reunion, our priorities were: a private pool, AC in the bedrooms and walking distance to the town. This villa met all our request. The hosts were attentive and helpful. Fully equipped kitchen if you want to do your own cooking, beautiful garden and great pool. The property is just as described. We highly recommend it.
